In addition to our five yearly Drama Club productions, we also provide technical support for numerous events, assemblies, concerts, club meetings, rentals and more every year.

Meetings and Commitment
Stage Crew is zero commitment for most meetings. No prior experience is necessary. This club meets year round. Meetings are held most weeks for a variable number of days, generally from 3-4:30 after school.
However, to be a part of the Run Crew for “tech week”, a week in which a show is being held, one must be available on all required days, typically six days (Monday to Saturday), for an extended period after school. Most rehearsals in tech week end around 7-8pm with days with shows ending around 9-10pm. You will sign up for tech week the week before.
Location
Meetings are held in the Auditorium. The auditorium is opposite the orchestra room 167 and between the new Plaza Entrance and the senior parking lot. Please enter through interior doors opposite of the orchestra room 167 or opposite the band room.
Dress
While not specifically required we ask that you wear close-toed shoes as stage crew works around heavy sets, wood, nails and screws. Gloves and safety glasses are not required, though they are provided if necessary.

Construction
The construction team comprises the whole of stage crew. You will learn how to construct sets on stage using various power and manual tools. Woodwork, painting, cleaning, maintenance, is also part of the responsibilities for construction crew. Tools used include drills, saws, wrenches, screwdrivers, levels, clams, lifts, squares, measuring tapes, and more.
Lighting
Lighting technicians prep lights for shows hanging in various high-powered stage lights on light racks, booms, and in the catwalk. They also program the lighting board, create the lighting design, and run lights during shows.
Sound
The sound department oversees all aspects of sound design. This includes wired and wireless microphones, music, effects and more. If you like exploring electronics and computers this department is for you.
Props
Props (short for properties) is responsible for all props used by actors in our six yearly productions. Props people must maintain and manage a large inventory of props (both small items as well as larger ones like furniture) in our prop store room, organize them for shows and make sure actors get the proper props during shows.
Follow Spots
Follow Spot operators work high up in the catwalk spotlighting actors on stage. Spot operators must be able to work in a hot environment for an extended period of time, have a steady hand and not be afraid of heights.
Stage Hands
Stage hands work in productions on stage moving scenery pieces and props on and off stage.
Stage Management
There are numerous leadership roles attainable in stage crew. The student head of stage crew is the stage manager who oversees all departments. Each department also has their own heads. To attain a leadership role, one must devote a significant amount of time and effort, attending all meetings and becoming the head of their respective department, usually over the course of at least a year.
